What We Do
Nick's Hope is a New Jersey nonprofit bringing free clothing to those in need, utilizing donations of gently used garments to lessen the environmental strain on landfills. After cleaning and repurposing, these clothes support individuals facing disadvantage or transition.
Our discreet online free store and mobile pop-up events provide a dignified shopping experience. We spread hope sustainably, one
piece of clothing at a time.
Nick’s Hope supports over 400 families in New Jersey. Since our inception in May 2020, we have distributed over 40,000 articles of clothing, footwear and accessories to those in need. This number equates to over 20,000 lbs. of clothing that may otherwise have entered our landfills.
In conjunction with social services in several New Jersey counties, all free clothing items are provided to community families through mobile pop-up Clothing events and through an online ordering program.
Clients are invited to attend a Nick’s Hope Free Clothing Pop-up event by the social services agencies which serve them. Those in need can either attend an in person mobile pop-up which is held at multiple locations throughout the year, or they can shop for FREE clothing via an online ordering system.
The orders are filled, packaged and delivered by volunteers to a central location in various NJ towns every few weeks.
At Nick’s Hope we feel that to experience dignity and agency over one’s choices, even choices as simple as whether a shirt is right, provides an immeasurable sense of hope and purpose to people’s lives.
Our organization’s volunteers operate a women’s boutique-style thrift shop, where higher-end items received are sold and generate revenue to offset much of our expenses.
